It’s How You Finish

The beginning?

A 21-0 lead by Appalachian State, in its game against Chattanooga on Saturday.

The middle?

Chattanooga outscores the Mountaineers 17-0 in the second and third quarters, and goes on to close the gap to 21-20.

The end?

The difference-maker. The Mountaineers come up with two touchdowns in the final 7:20 to secure a 35-20 victory.

“The most important thing was the fourth quarter, how we played that fourth quarter,” Coach Jerry Moore of the Mountaineers said. “You go back and look all the way back to East Carolina and we’ve been a team that’s got a lot of fight. We did the same thing against McNeese, the other loss that we had. We’ve got a lot of fight.”

The Mountaineers have outscored opponents 93-44 in the fourth quarter, which has been their strongest quarter in terms of scoring margin.
