You make a good point. The weather is awfully unpredictable these days.

I’m hoping area growers are right that last year’s devastating freeze happens only once every 20 years. The crop seems to have escaped damage this week.

The new NCSU variety is probably not a good choice for this area. The earlier, the more chance for a good killing freeze.
