Dinner on the Cheap

Maybe you noticed the three stories in the Feb. 11 Journal that focused on value meals. Maybe you noticed that the Journal has even devised a logo for such stories—a picture of a toolbox with the words “Managing the Recession.”

I’ll be doing a lot more of these kinds of stories as long as the recession continues.

I’m not alone. I just noticed that the March issue of Everyday with Rachael Ray advertises “$10 Spot”: Dinners for $10 (or less).” Recipes include sweet potato-and-ham fritters, cheesy hash brown chili, chipotle pork quesadillas and roasted garlic-and-spinach white pizza.

I’ve got more ideas for recession-busting recipes, but I’d like some help, too.

If anyone has any cheap meal ideas or recipes, send them my way. They may just wind up in the paper.
