Happy Birthday, Julia

By now, you may be sick of hearing about Julia Child.

But I couldn’t resist one more post, simply because today, Aug. 15, is Julia’s birthday. She would have been 97.

I won’t be celebrating with any daylong recipe out of Mastering the Art of French Cooking.

But I might make myself a nice simple omelet and toast her with a glass of wine.

And if you still aren’t sick of hearing about Julia Child, you might want to know that the Sept. 12 Bookmarks festival in downtown Winston-Salem will include an appearance by Laura Shapiro, author of the 2007 biography Julia Child: A Life.
