I Didn’t Mind The Wait

Just a quick thanks to chef and owner Patrick Manner at Mozelle’s in the West End, and to Dennis Wiggins and the rest of the staff, for making feel at home and look good during Feb. 24’s Celebrity Serve fund-raiser for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

I had a blast waiting on tables—kind of a blast from my past from when I worked in restaurants years ago, though I then was in the kichen, cooking.

It was especially fun having a pro like Dennis backing me up (and actually doing most of the work.).

The customers, too, were a lot of fun. More than a few wandered into the restaurant with no idea that a fund-raiser was in progress, but they cheerfully put up with my bumbling around as I explained the specials, brought them food with no silverware, etc.

They even left some good tips.

Here’s hoping the Make-A-Wish Foundation had a good night all around at the 15 or so participating restaurants and can soon grant a wish to some deserving child.
