Snow Day!

Unfortunately we don’t get snow days at the Journal, but it seems some restaurants are taking them.

Cat’s Corner, always busy for workday lunches, is dark on Fourth St. I passed the Dill Pickle, too, a downtown institution, walking around today, and they looked closed, too, though it was a little hard to tell. There was a guy scraping ice in front, so maybe they’re trying to get some customers in. Everything is quiet, except for the drip, drip, drip of snow and ice melting, and the occasional shuffling scuff of someone trying to make their way down the sidewalk.

I’m guessing a lot of you are home today with kids. What are you eating? Would you dare to make snow cream? Or are you putting all the bread and milk to good use - maybe making French toast and having breakfast for lunch or dinner?

Have some for me!
