The Dinner Belle and Tim Clodfelter Eat the Fair

In Oct. 7’s Journal, you’ll be able to read all about my eating extravaganza at the Dixie Classic Fair with co-worker/fried foods expert Tim Clodfelter. We’re making our game plan, plotting our staragy, and crossing our fingers for something interesting coated in batter. Now, the Dixie Classic Fair’s food is never as novel as say, the Minnesota State Fair, where among the many foods on a stick you can find bacon (with dipping sauces), fried pork chops, alligator sausage, cheese and Teriyaki ostrich.

But there has to be something new at the Dixie Classic this year. I mean, this is the South. We are experts at frying. And if not, Tim will find a friend in the familiar - Bits and Fixin’s, which Tim describes as sirloin tips, peppers, onions, new potatoes, butter and more butter.
