The Ultimate Leftover Sandwich?

Mandy London, a reader of my columns in the Journal, wrote the other day about a family favorite way to use Thanksgiving leftovers.

The idea came from her son-in-law, Bradford Pheeney, she said. “It is a recipe that, in essence, is the meal all over again but in a brief version with a multitude of variations.”

Without further ado, here is The Bradwich.

Brad prefers whole-wheat bread, Mandy says. Mayo is optional.

The Bradwich
Toast two slices of bread
Heat:
slices of turkey
stuffing
mashed potatoes (Brad likes white or gold instead of sweet, but any will do.)
Assemble heated foods on bread slice.
Add cranberry sauce (Brad likes jellied, but whole berry sauce will do.)
Pour heated gravy over all.
Top with other slice of toasted bread.
Or: Assemble the sandwich without heating the turkey, stuffing, and mashed potatoes. Then pour hot gravy over assemblage.
