Wish Me Luck

If you’re not doing anything at lunch or dinner Tuesday and want to help make a kid’s day, come on down to any one of about 15 Winston-Salem restaurants to the support the Make-A-Wish Foundation’s second annual Celebrity Serve.

The deal here is that local celebrities hang out at restaurants, meeting, greeting and serving customers. The restaurants then donate at least 10 percent of the proceeds to Make-A-Wish. Any tips given to celebrities go to the foundation, too.

The folks at the area chapter of Make-A-Wish tell me that it usually takes about $6,000 to make a wish come true for a child with a life-threatening medical condition. So it’s going to take a lot of meals and tips.

I’ll be serving at Mozelle’s at 878 West Fourth St. from about 6 p.m. on. If you come by, I’ll do my best not to spill any food or drinks on you. Wish me luck!

Other restaurants include Sweet Potatoes, Big Shotz in Clemmons and Winston, Noble’s Grille, Downtown Thai, Foothills Brewing and Diamondback Grill. You can see a complete list of restaurants and which celebrities will be there at http://www.ncwish.org.
