I believe a major variable as to who are QB is next fall rests with the OL.  If that unit doesn’t assert itself and show pass blocking skills, a running QB (Ted) may have the edge over a pocket passer (Brandon) simply because a more mobile QB buys a little more time in the pocket.  Let’s hope the OL doesn’t factor into who are QB will be.

DC - Re Eddie Sullivan. Wake only offered him as a greyshirt, so he would not have been on campus until the spring of 2011. Thus, he would be coming in trying to beat out a QB (whoever it is) who had played a full season and had eligibility remaining. At Marshall, he is able to enter and compete this fall. It’s easy to understand the desire to play right away, which Marshall offered.

Life after RS makes me extremely uneasy.  I don’t think Grobe has any idea who might be under center in he Fall.  Wake Football ‘10 sounds like its setting up to be Ground Grobe all the time.

It should be interesting to watch what plays out this Spring.

One thing that is interesting is the fact that Eddie Sullivan decommitted from Wake Forest in favor of Marshall.  Obviously a lot plays into an eighteen-year-old’s decision on which college to attend, but you’d think that the prospect of entering into a wide open competition for an ACC school as a freshman would be appealing.

Regardless, I’ll be excited to learn how the competition progresses.  The biggest job will be on Coach Lobotzke to adjust the offense to suit the new quarterback’s talents.  I think that we are well suited to do that considering we have so much depth at the wide receiver and running back position.
