This is beyond farcical now. This is simply unacceptable and the sooner Dino is gone, the better. I thought Cleveland State was bad. Now it’s Cleveland State night after night after night. Has anyone EVER seen a team fall from “lock status” to out of the NCAAs so quickly? Please tell us, Dan. How much more of this do we have to take??? Well, my guess is two more games and then it’ll all be over. I wouldn’t even want to see the team in the NITs at this point.

I am among the many who are calling for Gaudio to be shown the door…I agree with a comment that we should clean house except for Rusty.
I recently left 5 names of successful coaches I believe we could watch closely.
It isn’t going to happen.
We are fortunate to have probably the best AD in the country in Ron Wellman, and he is loyal to his people.
Since we are reduced to the “wait til next year” mode, let’s accept that Wellman will give Gaudio a chance with his highly touted freshman class; those players , along with Stewart and Harris and the Russian transfer would give us some good talent and some 3pt capability. Hope that Aminu will realize he is not ready to play in the NBA and will return to play as he is capable as part of a team, not to audition for NBA scouts. Hope ( we are dreaming ,aren’t we?) that Woods and Walker(if he is still around)would develop to their potential. Clark might earn his scholarship as more than a practice player. Give Gaudio more time to network with his friends in the college coaching fraternity and learn more strategy and tactics.
Who knows?

Until this team decides to swing the basketball to get some open outside shots, teams will continue to pack in the zone and limit Aminu’s effectiveness. He is definitely frustrated and losing interest quickly. If Ish wants to penetrate and kick to Ari or CJ and start getting teams to clear out of the lane, that’s fine, but LD dribbling around the perimeter and jacking threes will not win games from here on out. Nobody will play this team man-to-man anymore and until Dino adjusts, nothing will change. I’m as frustrated as anyone, but I still think that a Senior Day win over Clemson could turn the tide heading to Greensboro.

Dino sealed his fate as far as I’m concerned, when he left Chas in the UNC game after he got his second foul in 2 minutes, only to get his 3rd in three minutes. What kind of stupidity is that? And why can’t he formulate an offense where Aminu gets the ball somewhere other than the top of the key? And last night was poorly reffed in the second half and Dino stood on the sideline stroking his suit coat holding his piece of paper, taking it up the butt instead of throwing a fit. Good high school JV girls coach, maybe, not D1 Acc, and especially not Wake. Even Matt Dougherty would be better.

I am certainly not sure what the real trouble is; however, there is enough blame for all.  Yes, the team seems to lack the fire they had in mid-season and the coach often does not seem to be able to provide the leadeship and plays that make sense.  The final play against FSU really made no sense, why not give it to Ish and let him work his magic instead of trying to pass it inside?

I am afraid that the Clemson game and the ACC tournment will likely be a disaster.  I really hate for the seniors to go out on such a disasterous ending.

Maybe it’s time to change up the way college coaching staffs are structured to reflect what works for the NFL and to some extent the NBA. Have an offensive coordinator and a defensive coordinator. Any guesses which one we are missing at Wake?

Dino needs to go. End of story. We came out of timeouts last night-3 times and did not get a shot off. We don’t run plays. Aminu never touches the ball. We play one-on-one all the time. 2 end of season collapses-in a row- is sickening.

The slide is taking a toll on everyone, including us fans.  I’m curious as to how the home finale will go as far as the introduction of the seniors.  I’ll clap for them, but unfortunately, other than Ish, they are leaving with a whimper rather than a bang.  Let’s hope WF can figure out how to inbound the basketball before Sunday, how to get Aminu the ball down low, how to leave Ari in when he’s scoring the ball instead of jerking him out for LD, how to get CJ some confidence to shoot the ball when he is wide open, and how to get Chas to understand that he is participating in a BB game and not mud wrestling.  These are good, skilled BB players who need a boost in confidence and a good game plan and, although disappointed, I’ll cheer them to the end.

Right now this is a lost team, led by a lost coach with a deer in the headlights look on his face during games, and very nearly a lost season.  They played decent defense so they are still trying, but that offense is truly offensive, and throwing the ball away on two inbounds plays and gift wrapping 4 points for FSU, well there is no excuse and that is bad coaching.  It was the difference in the game.

These late season meltdowns are getting really hard to take.  We seem to make no improvements or adjustments as the season goes on.  It will be difficult for the Deacs to win another game this season.  They don’t deserve to be in the NCAA’s and I don’t see anyone on this team being first team All-ACC.  I sure don’t think we’ll need to worry about Dino being considered for Coach of the Year.  I think most Wake fans are pretty disgusted.
