Thank you Joe! That’s my point exactly. And that is precisely what the open practice is. It will serve no other purpose than as a publicity stunt, and a poor one at that.
And yes, I think that is entirely accurate to say that Mr Wellman is now, and has always been clueless, virtually walking around in a protective bubble, totally unaware of how the majority of fans feel about this coach, and the totally dismal state of the program. But one things for sure, his little bubble is about to burst! There’s a day of reckoning coming, my friends….....

Dan,
Glad to see you still refer to Franklin as ‘home.’  Next time you’re in WNC, stop in Waynesville.  We have several alumni here who would line up to buy you a cold beverage of your choice for your great coverage this season.

Sounds as if the “open” practice is a casting call for coaches. There has to be someone out there that is at least as capable as Beezeldick. I may try out, at least I don’t have a losing record!

I watched as much of the Clemson game as I could take. One of the more obvious things that stands out in all games is that Gary Clark is not a ball handling guard. He had one third of our turnovers yesterday. He is a shooter and should work without the ball to get shots but should not be handling the ball. If BZ is such a good coach, don’t you think he would see this? Just one example of many that ask the question: why is he here?

What are we talking about here? . . . PRACTICE???  Are we talking about PRACTICE??  PRACTICE??  Not a game - PRACTICE??  This is a nice idea - but it’s too little too late.  It’s hard enough to get motivated to go a “game”.  As much I believe that Professor Bz will put on an incredible presentation during his classroom session on Monday - let’s call this what it really is - a publicity stunt/public relations move by the administration.  I also wonder if holding an open practice could actually affect preparation for an upcoming game in which we could be competitive.  Dan - do you think Mr. Wellman actually understands the frustration level of the fan base?  As informative as his presentation was during the “fan fest” it didn’t really seem to energize our fans.  This practice session is a nice idea - but the timing is deplorable.

Jon S, if you don’t like the open practice then just stay home. Some of us think it will be good to see. The coach and the players are trying and will get better. Some should spend less time running down the players and the coach and more time learning how to spell.

I think its a pretty sad state of affairs when you have to open up a practice so that y our fan base might be encouraged enough to come back next fall and watch another debacle. This is almost as rediculous as haveing the AD field questions after a gmae because your coach is such a boring snore of an interview. Wake UP! Why would I waste my time going to a practice after all the time I’ve wasted this season.
