From what I hear, it is not Shane, Jimmy, or Alex that is the problem. It is coach Mitchell and his lack of knowledge about special teams.

There are at least 20 guys attneding Wake right now that can punt the ball better than Popham (no insult intended). Go by the soccer field and watch them.

Obviously, David, you did not read the article.  We cannot crucify Alex or just write him off.  He has patiently waited his turn and deserves a chance. I am excited to see him progress in workouts and spring ball.

Wulfeck has had better stats than Popham even though he has only taken a couple of punts. I say put he him! He can only get better.

I would assume by the coach’s comments that Wulfeck is also not the answer. Watching the warmups this year, Popham seemed to get good height and distance. Wulfeck’s kicks ranged from 35-40 on the best one’s he kicked. He just does not seem to have the size or the leg strength to be competitive in the ACC.
