The closest I can come before Tuesday is the lineup I blogged after Thursday’s scrimmage. The actual “official’’ version won’t be released until Tuesday’s press conference, and even that will be subject to change by the opener.
Check out my post from 08/26. The positions that appear most up in the air are at safety, where Alex Frye could start ahead of Daniel Mack, and at defensive tackle, where either Kris Redding or Ramon Booi might start ahead of Nikita Whitlock. But Grobe said he’ll use a rotation at those two positions.

Off the topic of redshirts but I wondered if you had spoken to Coach Grobe at all about the situation unfolding down the road at UNC. Heather Dinich mentioned it on her blog that Grobe is a coach who takes the academic aspects seriously and doesn’t tolerate this type of behavior. I think there are a lot of Deacon fans who are thankful that we have someone like Grobe at the top of our program.
