Dan, Ron Wellman is correct regarding Gene Hooks. As a witness to the years before Ron, I observed Gene and admired how he handled WF athletics. It must have been very difficult, during those years. He held his ground and acomplished much during this period. Ron came in and has done a great job also. In summation,we’ve had two great AD’s.

Dan, the headline on the Atlanta newspaper’s web site—“Roswell couple dies in plane crash”—jumped out at me because my parents live in Roswell and they were flying on Monday.
Then there was the relevance of the Judsons’ return destination being the airport within view of our house.
And now I hear about the couple’s quite substantial Wake Forest ties.
So tragic. Our prayers go out to the Judson family.
P.S. NCBrian, please show at least a little respect and save the recruiting chat for another post. That was pretty bad, man.

I think the post title needs to be a bit clearer. I first thought Gene Hooks passed away before I got to the end of the post.
On a separate topic, as we enter the basketball season, will losing Dino Gaudio heavily affect future recruiting? I been looking at the future recruiting classes as ranked by various media and it seems that Wake is nowhere to be found in the listings unlike the past few years where Wake has recruited some highly regarded players.

Very, very sad news!
