Wake fans don’t get it. Wake Basketball does not have to win.  Men and especially women.  Winning is not the name of the game. It’s being a friend to the Athletic Director and his assistant. Mens Coach best friends with AD. Womens Coach best friends with Asst AD. It’s not about winning. Look at the records and who they lose to.

After today’s embaraassing 81-69 loss to UNC Wilmington Coach Buzdelik better hit the recruiting trail extremely hard.  It’s going to take a Top 1-2-3 national class to turn things around.

Or, maybe it’s not the talent but actually the coach and coaching staff.  The comments above sounds like there maybe something going on between Coach Buzdelik and Coach Battle. 

There’s too much talent on this year’s team to have already lost to 4 Mid-Major teams, lose to a team that is now 2-31 against ACC teams, give up 14 - 3 pointers and JT Terrell plays 13 minutes.

UNC Greensboro Wed 12/15/2010 ... can Coach Buzdelik turn the team around to beat this Mid-Major team?  If not, 16 ACC games could be a real challenge.

I liked the energy that Mescheriakov gave us against UNCW.  Too bad the rest of the team was stuck in slow motion.

Jim, from my seat on press row I can’t see the Wake bench very well, so I don’t know much about the interaction during games. But I’m around Coach B a lot at practices and I haven’t seen anything but a good, healthy working relationship. I know Coach Bzdelik brags on his assistants constantly.

With Melvin and Nikita back, we have more “big” bodies.  However, what we don’t have is a real banger, a real physical presence down low.  Is Coach Bz trying to recruit that kind of kid? I am seeing signs he can coach, but I would like to know how recruiting is going?  Also, Dan, I notice that there appears to be little interaction on the bench during games between Coach Bz and Coach Battle.  Is that synergy working out?  What’s your take on this?  I would hate to think Coach Battle feels detached, etc.

Will be good to see what he’s got…If the team is going to stink this year, better to have it in Nov and Dec and peak in Feb. Unlike the teams of Prosser and Gaudio. Still would like to learn more about Coach Bz’s recruiting strategy.
