The more I thought about it last night, the more the coaching change made sense to me (from Coach Gaudio’s) point of view.
Like you pointed out, Dan, I highly doubt coach Gaudio would have gotten the head coaching job under normal circumstances (how do you not keep the coach that gives you the best chances of landing those recruits… can you imagine the outcry that would have went out had a new coaching staff come in and us lose out on them?!). This year is the year Gaudio really has to show his coaching skills/good coaching staff. We don’t have the recruiting class coming in that we had last year, so I’m sure he wanted to bolster up the coach staff as much as possible.
You could also tell it was a matter of time before one of the DOBs left/forced to resign. How many schools in the country have 2 DOBs? I would guess not many.
I wish coach muse all of the best, but from Gaudio’s point of view, I can understand it. None of us know how coach muse did with recruiting, and maybe Gaudio didn’t think it was going to work out?

Has the real question been asked? I think it’s: Is the head man up to the job? One can surely hope!

Yeah, I hate that Coach Muse left. You really couldn’t find a nicer/genuine/caring guy. I wonder if him being a local high school coach without a high profile had anything to do with it.
Larue was an NBA player with a higher profile, so I’m guessing they felt he could be a better recruiter than coach muse?
Bottom line - losing coach kels was a HUGE blow. I doubt many people know how awesome of a recruiter he is. It’s only a matter of time before he gets a head coaching job
