Ding, Ding, Ding, We Have a Winner
Well that didn’t take long, as I knew it wouldn’t considering the IQ of the MTOW Peanut Gallery.
Dave answered the trivia quiz (transfer from Georgetown in the early 90s) in about two seconds with the correct player, Anthony Tucker. What I remember about Tucker is that when he signed with Wake everyone thought he would be the center the program so desperately needed. He was, after all, 6-8. But it turned out he wasn’t really a low-post banger and in some ways was more of a perimeter player. His best season at Wake was his first, when he averaged 13 points and 6.3 rebounds.
He was no Rodney Rogers—few are. But he helped get Wake Forest back on the college basketball map.

I think prior to turning pro Aminu needs to learn how to dribble in traffic, learn some inside moves and gain 20 lbs. At present time he is too small to play the 4 and his dribbling skills are too weak to play the 3.His best move is to let his body and game mature at the college level prior to going to the NBA.He has tremendous running and jumping skills which are eye popping out on the open court but in the half court grind out type of game, he has work to do.

Anthony Tucker looked amazing against Duke that one night in Winston-Salem when he dropped something like 31 pts. on a Laettner-led Duke team!

Charles, you’re thinking of your namesake Charlie Harrison, who averaged 6.1 points as a junior in 1992-93 and 8.7 as a senior in 1993-94. He was a pretty good player, good enough to shoot 36 percent from 3-point range as a senior. I remember him for fouling Derrick Phelps intentionally (on Dave Odom’s orders) in the ACC semifinal against UNC, with the Deacons leading by three. The strategy backfired because there was too much time (around 11 seconds, if I remember correctly) remaining. Great hearing from you.

I recall yet another Georgetown transfer to WF, though I do not remember his name or the exact years he played. He was a guard, and a decent one. I think he was the first guard off the bench during his (2?) years at Wake.
Dan - do you remember his name ?
