Not sure what he should get for Christmas, but I’ll give him this—if I had to vote Democrat I would vote for him. If.

Also, his ad is the best one. The others are somewhat irritating, especially Giuliani’s!

John Edwards deserves, in his stocking, a memo reminding him of the outcome of the 2004 election, which should be ribboned to a polite reminder to stop wasting everyone’s time.

We Wish You a Merry Caucus

Joining a recent trend of candle-lit political ads in which candidates appear in front of cozy Christmas trees, the John Edwards campaign announced today its newest TV ad: a warm holiday message wrapped in a blanket of Edwardsian populism. Unlike Mike Huckabee’s holiday ad, the Edwards ad does not contain a subliminal cross in the background.

The ad will begin airing on Sunday in Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina. But you can view it above.

Post ideas here for what you think John Edwards deserves in his stocking this Christmas!

Update: Within 60 seconds of posting this, Trail Mix received an e-mail from Hillary Clinton’s campaign about her new holiday ad, which you can view here. But unlike the ads from Edwards, Huckabee, Barack Obama and Rudy Giuliani, Clinton’s ad doesn’t have a tree!

Quote of the Moment

“It’s ironic that the urban areas defeated an urban candidate.“
