Obama Launches First TV Ad

Barack Obama has beaten Hillary Clinton to the television airwaves.

Obama is launching his first television ad campaign in North Carolina, the campaign announced today. On a conference call with reporters this morning, Obama aides gave no details about the size of the ad buy, but they said the ad would run statewide. You can watch the 30-second ad, which is titled “Enough,” by going here.

The campaign also said that it is officially opening field offices across the state today. In addition to the campaign’s headquarters in Raleigh, it has field offices in the following 12 cities: Charlotte, Durham, Winston-Salem, Greensboro, Chapel Hill, Greenville, Asheville, Wilmington, Fayetteville, Rocky Mount, Hickory and Elizabeth City.

The Obama field office in Winston-Salem is at 8 W. Third St. and the phone number is (336) 631-1949.

Obama also announced today his first television ad in Indiana, the other May 6 primary. Both ads talk about plant closings.

Update 2:20 p.m.: Politico notes that this Obama ad is not new; it previously ran in Iowa.
