JournalNow.com: Veggin' Out
Contrary to a popular stereotype, vegetarians are not all champions of self-denial, pathetically munching a sprout on the sidelines while watching the omnivores have all the culinary fun. Instead, the vegetarians we know love good food and know where to get it. They aren't about to settle for a bland meal, either at home or at a restaurant.

Thanks for the comment, Cornelia! I’m afraid that some still have the perception that veggie food can’t be filling, especially for the “menfolk.” But that is changing some, and we’re doing what we can to help change it more!

Hi Cassandra and Julie,
I discovered your blog when I searched the Live Earth Concerts in NC--didn’t know anything about the event until 8 pm that night, what’s up with that???
Anyway, I just wanted to say I really like the tone of your site, that vegetarian choices are a rich part of a healthy lifestyle/diet. I remember when I moved to Winston-Salem I suggested a vegetarian theme for a group dinner with five couples. Three of the five women snuck some meat into their veggie entrees so the “men” wouldn’t go away hungry. I think we’ve come a long way since then!
Thanks for offering a great perspective on veggie dining in WS!
Cornelia
