JournalNow.com: Veggin' Out

Contrary to a popular stereotype, vegetarians are not all champions of self-denial, pathetically munching a sprout on the sidelines while watching the omnivores have all the culinary fun. Instead, the vegetarians we know love good food and know where to get it. They aren't about to settle for a bland meal, either at home or at a restaurant.

Want a Trader Joe’s?

Countess Von Dreck (wow, nobility reads our blog! ;-) suggested this in a comment to an earlier post, and I thought it was a fine idea. Want a Trader Joe’s in Winston-Salem? They solicit location requests on their Web site, so maybe they’d pay attention if a bunch of Winston-Salem residents sent in requests. To send in yours, go here and fill out the short form.

To do a little cross-polination: Laura Giovanelli wrote a story about Trader Joe’s fans and their campaign to get a store here. It ran March 14 in the Local section of the Journal, so it should still be accessible at www.journalnow.com. Check it out!

Thank you, Cassandra, for doing this!!  You’ve renewed my energy for “campaigning” for a WS Trader Joe’s.  What about if you and/or Julie wrote an article for the Journal about Trader Joe’s?  There are probably a lot of people who don’t even know what Trader Joe’s is.  It’s not just for vegetarians, as they do sell meat products and it’s a fun, budget friendly alternative to Whole Foods.

Yes!! Yes!!  A Trader Joe’s would be wonderful in Winston.  I heard that one may come into the old Fresh Market at Thruway.  Is this true? I hope so.

Send your suggestion for a location to Trader Joe’s at this URL:

I just did!

Whole Foods is constantly packed! I have seen traffic jams of people trying to get into that parking lot. Winston-Salem can definitely use a TRADER JOE’S!!! Bring it on!

Jimmy

I hope y’all sent your comments on the Trader Joe’s site—let’s inundate them with requests!

YES!!! I want Trader Joe’s—just one more reason WS could be a great city and attract young pople from other areas to move here.

This is the perfect market for a Trader Joe’s - healthy lifestyle and diverse demographics paired with financial stability. Further, there are more people here who make a road trip monthly to a Trader Joes in Cary or Charlotte than I can count on my fingers and toes. It would be a missed opportunity if TJs did not add a location in Winston Salem.
